Trusted Expertise & Steady Response

Jarrod Bernstein doesn't just advise on crisis. He shows up.

  • Jarrod Neal Bernstein is a practicing attorney, former senior government official, and active first responder who has spent more than two decades navigating some of the most complex and high-stakes challenges in both the public and private sectors. He currently serves as Policy Director and Counsel at Morrison Cohen LLP, where he focuses on government strategy, high-stakes controversies, litigation, and corporate matters for clients across industries including energy, mining, real estate, financial services, and digital assets.

  • Bernstein served in both the Obama and Bloomberg Administrations in senior roles including Acting Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — where he led a staff of nearly 50 and coordinated the federal response to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Haiti earthquake, and the H1N1 outbreak — and as Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. He was dispatched by the White House to coordinate the federal government's response to Hurricane Sandy, and co-authored the USVI Hurricane Resilience Report, which continues to serve as an active framework for disaster recovery planning today. He has appeared on CNN and other networks as an expert commentator on homeland security and crisis management.

What sets Bernstein apart is that his commitment to emergency response doesn't end at the boardroom door. Since 2013, he has served as a volunteer firefighter and New York State certified EMT with the Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company on Fire Island, where he now serves as 1st Assistant Chief and Executive Officer. He is a credentialed volunteer with Team Rubicon and holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law and a Certificate in Crisis Management from Harvard Kennedy School.
